Kinkey Spigot & The Welders (Double Set) - (Set time: 12:00 AM)
Kinkey Spigot & The Welders (Double Set)
Kinky Spigot and the Welders is a dance band serving the New York City area, specializing in the classic Soul music of the 60s and 70s.

Our pitch is simple: We’re young, we’re energetic, and we throw an unbeatable dance party at a great price.

With an electrifying stage presence and a sophisticated approach to dancefloor classics, Kinky Spigot and the Welders just might be the perfect topping for your wedding, party, or corporate event.

Here’s what some recent clients have said about us:

“We just wanted thank you guys for KILLING IT at our wedding and ensuring that we had what will certainly prove to be one of the best parties of our lives. You guys were relaxed (which was important considering we had no idea how anything would really work out), kind, and most importantly….. you rocked. Everyone, from our friends to our aunts, uncles and parents were raving about you guys. We can’t thank you guys enough for the show.” – Timothy Pingree, married July 2011.

“The wedding band can make or break the wedding. As a paranoid bride, I knew the music was key for my wedding, especially since mine was a New Year’s Eve wedding and had to be a good party. Kinky Spigot and The Welders, without question, made my wedding. They were unbelieveable. They played all the perfect songs and got every single person dancing, from the stodgiest old grandpa to the shyest of girls. All I heard all night was “Sara, your band! Oh. My. God!” and “Sara, this band is f****** awesome” and “Sara, where on earth did you find this band?!” Not only are they mind-bogglingly good at what they do from the horns to the female trio (when they play Michael Jackson, it’s for real, people go nuts), but they also listen. They know how important the music for an event can be, especially a wedding, and they want nothing more than to please. Hire Kinky Spigot and the Welders. They can do anything. They are crazy talented. They will are the party. Trust.” – Sarah Reid, married December 31, 2010

“Kinky Spigot was absolutely perfect, and we could not have asked for better combination of professionalism and fun. They were totally flexible—playing an acoustic cocktail set at the beginning of the evening, and then after dinner they managed to get even the most conservative partygoers out on the dance floor having a blast. Simply put, they made our event. Period.” – Katy Reid, corporate event May 2011
MK Groove Orchestra (Double Set) - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
MK Groove Orchestra (Double Set)
The MK Groove Orchestra is not your grandparents big band, the MKGO is equal parts rock band and jazz band, drawing upon all sounds and cultures that inspire them. Musical omnivores to say the least, depending on what night you see the group, you may be treated to a transcription of a B side from an obscure old school funk 45, the opening theme of a Bruce Lee film, a rendition of a classic recording by a cuban orchestra from the 50s or a classic rock anthem...most likely all of the above. The MKGO's originals also have an equal sense of adventure and breadth, written with clarity and purpose and performed integrity, intensity and virtuosity. Imagine all this...wrapped in face melting guitars.
Funk Face - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Funk Face
Born and raised in Harlem, New York, this young turk was brought up on the Blues, Jazz and Funk. His Family couldn’t afford a crib so he slept in the drawer below the stereo where his wailing cries couldn’t be heard over the sweet tunes of Funkadelic, James Brown, and Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers. As he grew, his brother’s influence of Hip Hop & 80’s R&B dominated the household for years, until Luqmon’study of guitar at the Harlem School of the Arts. There, his detesting for classical style led to a discovery of Rock and Roll. Already an overly-animated, hyper-freak, High School offered an education in the frenzied world of Hard Core, Punk, Ska, new wave, and Dancehall, All of which Luqmon could emulate and blend as a vocalist.

It wasn’t until he encountered Fishbone and Bad Brains that he decided to instill Nietzchesque-Mind control Raving, uttered with political and sexual references. His Psychotic need to push the limits on stage makes him the ultimate front man. Just don’t stand too close to the stage!!!!

This wide-ranged vocalist command voice-over is a known New York City DJ, a competent Two-Step MC, and collector of comic, records & black super-hero action figures.
